2007 proved to be another wonderful and successful year for us. We were very fortunate to have had success in the show ring, on the schutzhund field, in the whelping box and "on the street". We were honored by having an article written by Helen Hren about us, our dogs and our goals that was published in an issue of the Schutzhund USA magazine.
In May of 2007, Kathy's K-9 partner, K-9 Griff, was honored by being named the 2006 Hero Dog of the Year for Performance and Bravery in the Line of Duty by Bil-Jac Foods and The German Shepherd Dog Club of Northern Ohio. This honor was given to Griff due to an incident where Griff fought the fight of his life as he saved Kathy's and put a felon in jail who was subsequently charged with 10 felonies. To Griff- An Honor well deserved!!!!!!!!!
Tim, again, stayed super busy supervising, training and coordinating our department's large K-9 Unit, as well as, being the co-trainer for two - fifteen week K-9 courses which included K-9 teams from multiple jurisdictions in Northern Ohio. Tim and K-9 Gina did numerous nitrate sweeps for both the public and private sectors. Along with his K-9 duties, Tim found the time to put two more Sch3's on his K-9 Partner, Kimon, and the BH on his young Lucca son and future bomb dog, Falco.
Kathy and Arco's goal of competing for Universal Sieger was put "on hold" by Kathy's health problems.. Time will tell whether they get that chance another time or not. Kathy was able, though, to put two Sch3's on Arco and a Sch2 on Bali.
Lucca and Arco sired some very nice puppies. A male Arco puppy, Idol von der Wilmothhaus (aka Logan) is being raised by our daughter, Beth, and, hopefully, will be shown by us in 2008. We have high hopes for him.
A HUGE thank you goes to our puppy buyers and friends. From the show ring to the schutzhund field to our conformation training group to making new friends and continuing old friendships---WHAT A YEAR IT HAS BEEN!!! GOOD PEOPLE-GOOD TIMES-GOOD DOGS!!
Thanks to all who helped make this year memorable. Watch for us as we continue in 2008 in our quest for the "Total Dog".
